I’ve got to tell you guys a little secret, I always thought that it was really cool to have a mini bar at home! As you guys might know, I moved houses recently so, I’m still kind of organising and trying to decorate the flat. I started seeing different minibars pictures on Pinterest and had the idea to have one at mine also. There’s this cupboard in the corner, right at the dinning room, which was a bit empty. So, I thought, why not to use it as a mini bar?
Here I posted a few pictures that inspired me when setting up the minibar. One of the main things I realised is that you don’t really need to have a spacious place or a big cupboard in order to do a mini bar. In most of the cases, a beautiful and simple tray creates all the charm. Also, there is no need to have one thousand bottles of alcohol! Just a few bottles and some glasses are more than enough!
Look at this very practical and hard wearing good looking sideboard from The Nine Schools. That’s a medium size black Chinese sideboard, just perfect for your mini bar!
If you’re really used to welcoming people at your place, you will perfectly understand the positive points of having a mini bar. Apart of really helping on letting your guests to feel comfortable, it also gives a better, more charming and welcoming visual to your house!
Thinking about helping you guys out on your mini bar process, I decided to write down 3 very good tips. My bar is still unfinished guys, so the tips will also be very helpful for me.
1-Where to do my mini bar?
I think that the mini bar looks really nice on a double-decker trolley ( there are many types of them, even the ones specially designed to be a mini bar). However, if you do not have any trolley, like my case, you can do it on any cupboard.
2- How many bottles of different drinks should I place on the tray?
The ideal is to create a diversified and full of options bar. I would recommend at least about 6 types of bottles. The options could be: Whisky, Vodka, Champagne, different liqueurs wine and also non-alcoholic drinks such as water and juices.
3- Apart from the drinks, what else should I use?
I would say: Glasses, ice-buckets, water jugs, shakers, straws, fruits and also, decoration itens such as books, magazines, flowers and etc…
Hope my tips can really help you guys!
